Iran has issued a stark warning to U.S. President Donald Trump following a series of devastating airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities by American forces. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, declared at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit in Istanbul that the United States will bear “sole and full responsibility for the perilous consequences” of its actions.
Araghchi condemned the U.S. attack as an “outrageous, severe, and unprecedented breach” of international law and the United Nations Charter. He accused Trump of betraying both American voters and the diplomatic process by yielding to pressure from Israel, which had previously launched its own strikes on Iran. The Iranian government maintains that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes and insists it will never surrender its sovereignty.

In a direct and defiant message, Iran’s military addressed Trump as a “gambler,” warning that while the U.S. may have started the conflict, Iran would be the one to end it. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Military Central Command, stated in English: “Mr. Trump, the gambler, you may start this war—but we will be the ones to end it.” The military also announced that U.S. interests throughout the region are now considered legitimate targets for retaliation.
The U.S. strikes, which targeted three key nuclear sites including the underground Fordow facility, have been described by Trump as having “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities. However, experts caution that the full extent of the damage remains unclear. The Trump administration maintains that its goal is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, not to escalate the conflict further.

Meanwhile, the international community has called for restraint, with Russia warning that the U.S. has “opened a Pandora’s box” by attacking Iran. The United Nations Security Council is being urged to intervene as tensions threaten to spiral into a wider regional conflict.

As the situation develops, both Iran and the United States are bracing for further escalation, with the Iranian military vowing a forceful response and the U.S. warning against any retaliation against its forces or citizens. The world watches anxiously, with fears mounting over the potential for a major war in the Middle East.
